An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone that lets you activate a data plan without a plastic card. With AstraMobi, you buy a plan for your destination, we instantly email your activation details (QR/LPA), you add it to your phone, and mobile data starts the moment you land and connect to a local network. Keep your physical SIM for calls/SMS if you like, and use AstraMobi for fast, affordable data.

Most modern phones support eSIM: iPhone XR/XS and newer, many Google Pixel (3 and newer), and recent Samsung Galaxy (S20/S21/S22/S23/S24, Z Fold/Flip, etc.). Some carrier-locked devices and a few regional models disable eSIM. The quick check: in your phone settings search for “Add eSIM” or “SIM Manager → Add eSIM.” If you see that option, you’re good. If you’re unsure, check our esim compatability page or ask us and we’ll confirm by model number.

AstraMobi connects you to top local networks in each country with 4G/LTE and 5G where available. Speed depends on local coverage, device bands, and congestion—just like a native SIM. We optimize routing and partner with multiple carriers so your phone can latch on to the strongest local signal. If you’re in a rural area or indoors, speeds may dip; outdoors in cities you’ll typically see strong results.

You can install any time, but don’t activate data until you travel if you want the full validity at destination. AstraMobi plans generally need to be activated within 60 days of purchase (we include an “Activate By” date in your order). Tip: install at home on Wi-Fi the day before you fly, then toggle the AstraMobi line on when you land.

For iPhone: (iOS 17/18)

  1. Settings → CellularAdd eSIMUse QR Code (or “Use Activation Code”).

  2. Scan the QR we emailed (or paste the LPA code).

  3. Set AstraMobi = Primary for Data (keep your regular SIM for calls if you want).

  4. Turn on Data Roaming for the AstraMobi line when you arrive.

For Android:  (Samsung/Pixel)

  1. Settings → Connections / Network & InternetSIM ManagerAdd eSIMScan QR (or “Enter details”).

  2. After install, set AstraMobi as Preferred for Mobile Data.

  3. Enable Roaming for the AstraMobi line at destination.

APN config is automatic. If a network prompts for APN, use the APN shown in your order email or contact support—we’ll send the exact value.

AstraMobi is perfect for Dual-SIM. Keep your physical/home SIM for calls/SMS/2FA, and set AstraMobi for Data Only. You can choose which line handles calls, messages, and data in settings and switch anytime. This setup avoids roaming charges on your home SIM while keeping your number reachable.

Validity (e.g., 7, 15, 30 days) starts on first network activation at the destination, not at purchase. Data allowances (1/3/5/10/15GB, etc.) are a bucket—use them anytime within the validity. Unused data doesn’t roll over after expiry. If you need more time or data, see top-ups on the purchase page.

Easy: buy a Top-Up for the same country/region and we’ll bind it to your existing eSIM (same ICCID, no new QR needed. You’ll get a confirmation email when the extra data is attached. If your plan has expired, you can purchase a fresh plan and install a new eSIM profile.

  • For iPhone: Settings → Cellular → AstraMobi lineUsage (reset the counter on day 1).

  • For Android: Settings → Network & Internet → Data usage → select the AstraMobi eSIM.
    If you need a precise readout, message support with your order ID or ICCID and we’ll check on the carrier side.

 

  1. Toggle Airplane Mode for 10 seconds; turn it off.

  2. Ensure AstraMobi = Preferred Data and Data Roaming ON for the AstraMobi line.

  3. Manually select network: Settings → Carrier/Network → turn off Auto and pick the recommended local carrier; test another if needed.

  4. APN: usually auto. If prompted, enter the APN from your order email and save.

  5. Reboot the phone.

  6. Still stuck? Send us your device model + ICCID, we’ll refresh the profile or advise a network to lock onto. Don't Worry,we’re quick.

For security, an eSIM can typically be used on one device once installed.

  • Not installed yet? We can usually re-issue to a different devic, contact us before activation.

  • Already installed & phone lost/replaced? Some carriers allow a one-time migration; others require a new plan. Contact us with your order ID, we’ll do our best and outline costs (if any).

 

AstraMobi uses millitary carrier-grade encrypted mobile networks; we don’t inspect your browsing content. We store the minimal info needed to deliver your service (order details, eSIM identifiers) and protect QR/LPA delivery. Manage your data lines directly on-device; you can remove the eSIM profile anytime in settings. For compliance and fraud prevention, we may retain order logs as required by our carriers.
